I’ll be talking about the relationship between cognition, motivation, and emotion. My starting point will be the fact that our brains, which contain around 100 billion neurons and hundreds of trillions of synaptic connections, process 11 million bits of sensory information every waking second. Somehow, massively parallel computations applied to this incoming data result in everything we experience, feel, and do. I aim to shed some light on how this all works.
